1. When and where was Kate Sheppard born?

10 March 1847, Liverpool, United Kingdom

2. How old was Sheppard when she moved to New Zealand?

Her father died in 1862 and in 1869 Sheppard came to New Zealand with her mother, two brothers and a sister.

3. What was something that Sheppard believed women should actively be able to do?

Largely raised and educated in Scotland, she moved to New Zealand in the late 1860s, and in 1871 she married Walter Allen Sheppard, a storekeeper. An early feminist, she believed that women should participate fully in all aspects of society, including politics.

4. What does NCW stand for?

Network Centric Warfare in NZ.

5. What were 3 actions that Sheppard took as leader of the NCW to get women their right to vote? 

1. She said ‘’ we should stande up for yourself and not let the boys do stuff for us!’’   

2. I would do what she did but become prime minister and show that woman can do it. 

3.  Go to every door and vote against whoever is voting.

6.  What do you think was her greatest achievement?

To become the first woman Prime minister in the world.
